A stone cottage built three hundred years ago

The Access leads off a quiet country road.  The tarmac driveway is about 150yds long and leads to a large gravelled parking/turning area.  Parking is in close proximity to the property (4yds)

Access to the cottage – from the gravelled area a small step leads to a short cobbled walk (approx 3yds) to a porch that has a small slate step.  The half glazed front door leads into the sitting room.  There is a porch light.

Accommodation down stairs – the sitting room has a wood burner that is placed on a raised platform (4’’) in an inglenook, which has independent illumination.  The seating is varied offering different heights of chair.  Side tables have lamps on them and there is a standard lamp in the room that can be moved wherever required.  Large T.V. with teletext and remote control.  A downstairs double bedroom leads from the sitting room.  Two original stone steps, independently lit, lead to the kitchen/diner, which is all electric including a cordless kettle etc.  Lighting is positioned over the work surfaces and over the dining table.  A half glazed door leads down a step into the utility/playroom with dishwasher and washing machine.  A downstairs w.c. basin and shower lead off the utility room.  The private garden is accessed from a split door that leads to stone fagged area, a step down leads to the lawned area.  Garden furniture is solid wood with additional chairs stored in the utility room.

Accommodation upstairs – is accessed by a wooden staircase that consists of four risers to a small landing and a turn to the left leads to further risers leading to a large double bedroom/sitting room.  The overhead beams are a strong feature of the room.  The wooden beams are clearly visible as they stand in strong contrast to the pale walls and ceiling.  The accommodation leads to a large bathroom through a low doorway.  A twin bedroom is accessed from the double bedroom/sitting room.

Our clients all receive detailed information about the cottage.  Particular attention is given to pointing out First Aid box, fire blanket and smoke detectors.  Additional medical facilities in the locality are detailed.  Mainline telephone is available in the nearby self-contained accommodation
